Account Settings: Overview

Account settings in ParentSquare gives you control over your profile, settings, and activity. Manage your contact information, customize notification preferences, and track your activity across all school communications from one central location.

Explore Account Settings

From My Account you can:

  • Edit Account Information: Update profile photo, contact details, and personal information (if allowed by your school). Make phone, email, or address visible or hidden to the school community
  • Monitor Account Security: Manage active sessions, passwords, and login security
  • Customize Notification Settings: Control how and when you receive posts, messages, and alerts
  • Set Language Preferences: Receive communications in your preferred language
  • Configure Office Hours: Set availability for direct messages and Virtual Phone calls
  • View Activity: Published Posts, scheduled and draft Posts, Sign Ups, Forms and Signatures, Groups, Payments, Volunteer Hours, RSVPs

How to Access Your Account

  1. From Home, click your name at top right and select Manage Account.

  2. Use the left sidebar to navigate between your account profile, settings, and activities.

User Account Information

My Account

  • Control who can see your contact information in the school directory. You can make your phone or email visible to the school community or hidden so only admin can view it.
  • From My Account, click the visible or hidden pencil icon next to your email or phone number to adjust the visibility.

  • Note: If you are unable to adjust the visibility, your school has chosen to make all contact information hidden. 

Edit Account

  • Update your profile photo, contact details, and personal information. Availability depends on your school's policies - some schools require contact information changes to be made through their student information system (SIS).

Security

  • Monitor active login sessions across all your devices and sign out of any unrecognized sessions. This helps detect unauthorized access and maintain account security.
  • ParentSquare includes password monitoring that checks your password against databases of known security breaches. If your password is found to be compromised, you'll be prompted to create a new one.
  • Restricted sessions: If you access ParentSquare through your school's portal, SIS, Clever, or ClassLink, your session may be restricted to that specific district for enhanced security.

Settings

Roles & Permissions

  • View the roles associated with your account.
  • Click on a role to view more information on the role.

Notification Settings

  • Customize how you receive notifications for your school or district:
    • Instant: Receive notifications immediately as content is sent
    • Digest: Get daily summaries of non-urgent posts while receiving urgent messages instantly
    • Off: Disable notifications for specific communication types

Language Settings

  • Choose your preferred language to receive posts, messages, and alerts automatically translated. ParentSquare supports 190+ languages with automatic translation of school communications.

Staff Only: Office Hours

  • Set your availability for receiving notifications and Virtual Phone calls. When Office Hours are enabled:
    • Direct message notifications are silenced outside your set hours.
    • Virtual Phone calls go directly to voicemail.
    • Email notifications continue to be delivered.
    • Urgent alerts always come through regardless of Office Hours.

Activity

Activity provides a view of all your ParentSquare interactions organized by feature type:

  • Posts: View all posts you've created and published.
  • Archived Posts: Access older posts that have been archived.
  • Scheduled & Draft Posts: Manage posts scheduled for future publication or saved as drafts.
  • Sign Ups: Track volunteer opportunities and events you've signed up for.
  • RSVPs: View event responses and attendance confirmations.
  • Forms: Access completed forms and digital signatures.
  • Groups: Manage your membership in interest groups and activities.
  • Volunteer Hours: Report and track your volunteer contributions.
  • Payments: View payment history for school fees, lunch accounts, and activities.

Manage Multiple Accounts

Switch Accounts

  • If you have multiple roles (such as both parent and staff accounts), you can easily switch between accounts without signing out completely.

Merge Accounts

  • If you have duplicate accounts, ParentSquare can help merge them into a single account while preserving all your activity and preferences.
